Today I did what I do every nice day possible… I rode The Wing.
Having missed out on the opportunity yesterday, and with yet another front coming in tomorrow, I made sure to take advantage of today. I rode The Wing in to work, then took off a little early in order to pick up Angela for a nice little evening ride. Not wanting to be gone long we stuck to touring the city – past Wright Park, through the North End, down along Ruston way and up to Pt. Defiance where we rode Five Mile Drive. After the Point we drove through a couple of over 55 communities, discussing what it would be like to live in one. Then we headed to Fife and the Pick Quick hamburger stand, hoping the third time would be a charm.
Last summer we went by the Pick Quick, curious about the fact that there were always so many cars there. As we got to the front of the order line though, we discovered they only take cash and, having none, we decided to go on with our ride and stop by later. Of course, later we were full from having eaten elsewhere along the route. Then late last year, after having tried several other recommended hamburgers, we realized we still had yet to try the one in our own backyard. So we hopped on the wing and headed toward the port. We pulled up and…closed until February for renovations. Arrghh!
But today the burger gods smiled upon us – they were open and we had cash. We each got a bacon cheeseburger with fries, I got a soda and Angela got a mt. blackberry shake. The shake was the best
part. Not to say that the burger wasn’t good. It was better than Dicks but nowhere near as good as Red Mill. Angela thought the fries were good but I’m not a fan of natural cut and they were a bit soft for my taste.

All in all, it was a nice ride and a decent dinner. FYI – the Pick Quick has no indoor seating. They do, however, have plenty of picnic tables in an adjacent grassy area or you can eat in your car or get it to go.
